Q: If I find a buyer for my home, will agent split commission with me or take less than what is indicated in contract?
?Anonymous, Somers, NY
A: Unless this was negotiated in advance and written in to your listing agreement, your agent does not have an obligation to reduce their fee. If it is not in your listing agreement, you can still try to negotiate a lower fee with your agent. Don?t be disappointed, though, if the answer is ?no.? Much more goes into selling a home than you may realize.
