The tall cabinets Robern Medicine Tech Introduces HomeThangs ...

HomeThangs.com best online shop Super was their goal to provide the right product for the consumer, with this in mind design tips, shopping and home and special choices of imported products.

Into regular medicine cabinet always had one operation a simple storage option with some shelves, and the needs of their size and shape constraints, they do not always do it well. As a solution, HomeThangs.com introduced Robern, whose high-tech medicine cabinet blow their competition out of the water, and they offer much more than the baseline that I-need-more-store functionality.
Into 1,.; Defoggers Mirror

In a traditional bath tarnished mirrors are one of those inevitable hassles of everyday life that most people learn to live with, taking the soiled drippy cloudy mirror or reflection in progress. But medicine cabinet Roberns as the Arch mirror, made with apothamvotires constructed that prevent the accumulation of steam, in the first place, not only makes it usable steps of a time out of the hot shower, but the savings one needs to clean up drops, lanes, and stains.

Into 2,., built in stores

One of the most revolutionary Roberns medicine cabinet are incorporated in the stores. There are some things that just can not be stored, electric shavers and electric toothbrushes are the best examples, but straightening irons, curling irons and hair dryers are all there, too. If you need to connect, especially if you need to connect to 24/7, its probably going to spend most of his time on the bench. But medicine cabinet Roberns as Fairhaven office is fully equipped with electrical outlets or electrical shelves full, which allows you to hide hunger for power and to keep the details of our counter clear. You can also connect an MP3 player or smartphone for an easy way to get the music in the bathroom.

Into 3,.; mirror lifting

With most doctors, especially those installed in close quarters, you should avoid means to access it. The doors are too large and clumsy to interact with, and does not have nearly the ease convenient, for example, the opening of a drawer. Roberns Rehabilitation Medicine Cabinet addresses this problem in particular, the traditional exchange of doors to swing or slide an innovative drug, without glass panel is lifted upward to zero Distance mounting. This provides full access to the inside of the cabinet without medicine to prevent the door. It also happens to look very elegant.

Into 4;.; Nite Lites

Night Lights is a small luxury that almost no one would think to want. But instead stumbled into the bathroom late at night and get blinded by the tactical lights with a faint glow, but effective and is not a bad idea. Roberns M Series medicine cabinets are equipped with a very soft light blue is integrated into the lower edge. Bright enough to be seen leaving the bathroom in the dark, without blinding wake all the way up. Of

Into 5;.; Cold Storage

Some medicine cabinet Roberns as the M series, are equipped with built-in cooling chambers essentially a small split in the medicine cabinet refrigerator. Having a refrigerator in a medicine cabinet can actually be a very practical solution for the maintenance of temperature-sensitive drugs or cosmetics.

Into 6,.; design built

Although this is neither revolutionary nor particularly Robern exclusive, it is worth noting that in many of their medicine cabinets are designed to be installed partially or completely concealed in the bathroom wall. This has the double advantage of providing more space in a medicine cabinet that takes up less space in the bathroom. This is particularly important in a small bathroom, where traditional medicine cabinets may feel a bit ?overwhelming. A recessed medicine cabinet does not violate the clear space of more than a mirror, offering all the storage space required.

Into this shows, medicine cabinets do not have to be the worst of last resort that can actually be a welcome addition to a luxury bathroom and a very good choice for adding storage to a small bathroom.
Into HomeThangs.com not only a supermarket for your home, we also provide expert advice on design and a comprehensive shopping guide, inspired by professional interior designers, and offering advice to consumers on how to choose products that best fit their needs.

Euro zone rot spreads to Germany, China mending

The euro zone's biggest member Germany is being sucked into the bloc's worsening economic quagmire, business surveys suggested on Wednesday, as similar data signalled the slowdown in China may be abating.

The slump that began in Greece and spread to other smaller euro zone economies was clearly gripping the core in October, marking the worst month for the 17-member bloc since it emerged from recession more than three years ago.

Markit's Composite Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI), which polls around 5,000 businesses across the 17-nation bloc and is viewed as a reliable growth indicator, fell to 45.8 this month.

That was the lowest reading since June 2009, confounding consensus expectations in a Reuters poll for a rise to 46.4. The index has now been below the 50 mark that separates growth from contraction since February.

Similar PMI data for China suggested the world's second biggest economy, a key world exporter, is slowly recovering from its weakest period of growth in three years, with new orders and output at their highest in months.

A comparable PMI for the United States due at 1258 GMT is also expected to rise, showing a modest acceleration in growth.

GERMAN PLUNGE

The manufacturing PMI for Germany - another major exporter and Europe's economic powerhouse - plunged to 45.7 from 47.4, also confounding expectations for a rise and well below even the lowest forecast polled by Reuters. The rate of decline was even worse in France.

"(It) reinforces concern that the economic downturn in the region may be deepening and widening," said Martin van Vliet, senior economist at ING.

The data were published just before European Central Bank President Mario Draghi was due to appear before German lawmakers for a grilling over whether his plans to buy euro zone sovereign debt might trigger inflation or compromise ECB independence.

They also coincided with the latest numbers from Germany's Ifo institute showing business sentiment in the country dropped sharply to its lowest in more than 2-1/2 years, the sixth consecutive monthly fall.

"Any hopes of a rebound appear to have been dashed for now. Germany is heavily dependent on exports so a global slowdown is going to impact on Europe's growth motor," said Peter Dixon at Commerzbank.

Germany has been mostly resilient to the three-year old sovereign debt crisis. But economic data in recent months have shown the rot is spreading.

The euro zone economy contracted 0.2 percent in the second quarter and is predicted to have shrunk 0.3 percent in the third, meeting the technical definition of recession.

While official data implies a similar decline in the third quarter just ended, Markit said the PMIs suggest the downturn will accelerate into the current quarter - a far gloomier prediction than in a Reuters poll last week.

"We are more downbeat than the official data. The PMIs are running at levels in the third quarter and start of the fourth quarter historically consistent with GDP falling at about 0.6 percent," said Chris Williamson at data collator Markit.

Bad news has been flowing out of company boardrooms too.

Carmaker Volkswagen reported a fall in nine-month operating profit on Wednesday and sportswear maker Puma reported sales in the region dropped in the third quarter.

Heineken NV , the world's third-largest brewer, reported a stronger than expected increase in third-quarter revenue, but sold more beer everywhere except western Europe.

Markit's measure of services business expectations sank to its lowest reading since February 2009, at the nadir of the last recession and when world stock markets were tumbling.

STABILISATION IN CHINA

But it was a different story for China, where the HSBC Flash Manufacturing PMI rose to a three-month high of 49.1 in October but remained below the key 50 mark.

"(This) adds to recent signs of stabilisation of the Chinese economy, thus underpinning our view that the slowdown in activity is bottoming out," said Nikolaus Keis at UniCredit.

A Reuters poll taken after last week's GDP data showed economists anticipating a modest rebound in growth in Q4 to 7.7 percent from Q3's below-target 7.4 percent.

Even that figure would not be enough to lift full year expansion from an expected 13-year low, however.

Best Improve Your Home With These Sound Ideas

Some homeowners never get around to improving their home. They are often scared off by the cost or the disruption to their lives that they believe are necessary. There are many home improvement projects that are easy for even a novice to do. This article will give you some terrific information to help take away some of the fear of beginning your home improvement endeavors.

You can inexpensively update your home with nothing more than paint. Paint can give your home a new look without a high cost. Painting a room can totally change the atmosphere of it, even more so if the new color is completely different from the old. Additionally, you can correct any painting mistakes by choosing a new color.

If you?d like to freshen up your bathroom?s appearance, give them a fresh new glaze. An old, worn bathroom can look new and shiny with a coat of fresh glaze. If you put in a new floor in your bathroom it may cost you more than you think, new glaze is very cheap. The value of a home can be increased at a bargain price through glazing.

When planning a major home renovation project, hire a professional architect or designer to create your plans. If you do it yourself, you may not have the right plans, technically, and fail. Professional designers will be able to create meaningful plans to construct from, ones that also meet all local building restrictions.

Prior to beginning a major improvement, you should meet with your neighbors and tell them your project schedule. Being the neighbor during construction can be a certain nuisance. You will enhance neighborly goodwill by letting your neighbors know what will be going on so they are not unpleasantly surprised or inconvenienced.

Add some fresh flowers or a fruit bowl to your kitchen. Your kitchen will come to life with a beautiful flower arrangement or a generous bowl of fresh fruit. This is an inexpensive fix and will brighten up the kitchen instantly. Seeing a vase full of new flowers can make even dull days seem better in your kitchen while improving your mood.

Creating a cost estimate is critical for every type of home improvement project, other than the very tiniest ones. You can save money if you purchase material in bulk. Make sure that items you will need are in stock or order them well in advance of the time you will need them. If they are not ordered in advance they can hold up the entire project.

If you have building materials to store, put them between your floor joints or ceiling rafters. Long or large pieces of material or molding like two-by-fours can placed somewhere inconspicuous with little effort. Nail some furring strips to two exposed rafters or floor joists, and place the material in there.

Look into wood cabinets if you are considering replacing your cabinetry. Wood cabinets will last for years, withstanding much wear and tear. Some of the most popular woods for cabinets are oak, cherry and maple. They can all be stained if you want a different color.

Invest some time in getting ready to undertake your home improvement project! For instance, if you are going to be painting the interior of a room you must gather material to cover your possessions or clear the room completely before painting. Splattering paint all over the furniture is one quick way to ruin it completely. Use household sheets to protect your furniture from unexpected splatters and drips.

Finishing your home?s basement is, possibly, the best improvement to make. You are essentially creating another room to live in. The essential materials can be bought from discount stores. This home improvement can add a great deal of re-sale value to your home.

Discovering the origins of a lost water pressure problem may not be too difficult. Ask your neighbors about any problems they have had with water pressure. If they don?t, there is something wrong with your plumbing system. Make sure you check all of your water sources to see if the whole home is having the issue. You may find the problem simply attributed to an aerator in need of adjustment, or else wise, a call to a professional may be in order.

This article illustrated some effective home improvement practices. Knowledge is power when it comes to home improvement projects.

HP announces pricing and dates for its entire Windows 8 lineup

HP has just announced pricing and availability for its burgeoning Windows 8 lineup of hybrid PCs, notebooks, all-in-ones, desktops and business PCs. The company seem to be wooing every niche out there with a huge (and confusing) array of products running the newfangled OS, and though we already knew the score on many, the picture is now (almost!) complete. The 11.6-inch Envy x2 hybrid (shown above), powered with an Intel Clover-Trail flavored Atom processor will come on the scene on November 14th starting from $850, for instance, and we also have the scoop on the HP Envy TouchSmart Ultrabook 4, HP Phoenix h9 desktop PC and HP Pavilion dm1 (with new 4G connectivity) after the break. Finally, HP still hasn't released pricing or details on its once-mysterious ElitePad 900 business tablet, but they did say that customers who nab one early next year will receive a 50GB Box cloud storage account, gratis. To see the company's entire range, along with dates and prices, the PR is also after the fold.

Visa hires JPMorgan's Charles Scharf as CEO

(Reuters) - Visa Inc said Charles Scharf, a former head of JPMorgan Chase & Co's retail financial services division, will succeed Joseph Saunders as chief executive, effective November 1.

Visa's board had been looking for a successor to Saunders, who has headed the company since 2007 and was expected to retire soon.

Scharf is also returning to Visa's board. He previously served on the board from 2007 to January 2011.

Scharf was moved from JPMorgan's retail banking business to its private equity arm in 2011, after the lender shuffled several retail banking executives in a push to raise profit.

He is currently managing director at One Equity Partners, which manages $10 billion of investments and commitments for JPMorgan Chase.

"We believe Scharf's large-scale management experience is a good fit... and our initial checks have been positive regarding his leadership style," Jefferies analyst Jason Kupferberg wrote in a note to clients.

Scharf's experience with JPMorgan will also help Visa. The bank is Visa's largest card issuer and accounts for about 10 percent of its profit, Kupferberg noted.

Analysts do not expect Scharf to spark major changes at the payment network.

"I think Visa is doing well. I think all he is going to be charged with is moving it forward in the same direction," Wedbush Securities analyst Gil Luria said.

The San Francisco-based company has already raised its full-year earnings forecast twice this year, as more people move to card-based payments globally.

Visa is scheduled to report its fourth-quarter results on October 31.

Current CEO Saunders, 66, spearheaded Visa's 2008 initial public offering and will continue as executive chairman until March 31, after which Visa will appoint a new non-executive independent chairman.

Visa said Scharf would be paid $950,000 per year in base salary and a bonus of up to 500 percent.

Scharf will also receive restricted stock and options worth $19 million, the company said in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Saunders received $11.8 million in total pay in 2011, according to regulatory filings.

Shares of the credit and debit-card network were up 1 percent at $138.05 on the New York Stock Exchange on Wednesday morning.

C. diff infections becoming more common, severe in children and elderly

ScienceDaily (Oct. 22, 2012) ? Clostridium difficile infections are becoming more common and more severe in hospitalized children and the elderly, in large part due to greater use of antibiotics, Mayo Clinic researchers report in studies being presented at the American College of Gastroenterology annual meeting.

The bacterium, also known as C. difficile or C. diff, can cause an infection with symptoms ranging from diarrhea to life-threatening inflammation of the colon. It is the most common cause of diarrhea in hospitals and is linked to 14,000 U.S. deaths each year.

The Mayo study analyzed five years of data from the National Hospital Discharge Survey and found that of an estimated 13.7 million hospitalized children, the 46,176 with C. diff infections had significantly longer hospital stays, more instances of colectomy (partial or total removal of the colon), increased admission to long or short-term care facilities, and higher risk of death.

"Despite increased awareness of C. difficile in children, and advancements in management and prevention, this remains a major problem in hospitalized children," says Sahil Khanna, M.B.B.S., a Mayo Clinic gastroenterologist.

Elderly patients also have a greater risk of complications from C. difficile and dying from the infection. In a separate study of 1.3 million adult patients hospitalized with C. diff, patients over 65 were in the hospital longer, sent to nursing homes more frequently and had a greater risk of death. That suggests being over age 65 is an independent risk factor for adverse outcomes associated with the infection.

Researchers say increased use of antibiotics is a main reason for the increasing infection rates. When a person takes antibiotics, good bacteria or flora that protect against infection are destroyed. When these bacteria are destroyed, patients are vulnerable to C. difficile picked up from contaminated surfaces or spread from a health care provider's hands.

Treatments depend on the severity and number of times a patient has had a C. diff infection. Typically, physicians will treat it with the antibiotic metronidazole or oral vancomycin. For severe cases and patients with recurrent C. diff, fecal transplants are an option. Stool transplant restores healthy intestinal bacteria by placing donor stool in the colon.

Recurrent C. difficile is a majore problem with the risk of recurrence being 20 percent after a first infection and as much as 60 percent after multiple infections. People who have had C. difficile are twice as likely to get it again. Other known risk factors include proton-pump inhibitors for gastric reflux, immunosuppression, and long hospital stays.

It costs at least $1 billion annually to treat C. difficile infections.

Prevention measures include:

  • Washing hands frequently with soap and warm water in the event of a C. difficile outbreak; alcohol-based hand sanitizers may not destroy C. diff spores.
  • Patients hospitalized with C. difficile should have a private room or share a room with someone else who has it. Hospital staff and visitors should wear disposable gloves and gowns while in the room.
  • Thoroughly cleaning surfaces with a product that contains chlorine bleach.
  • Avoid unnecessary use of antibiotics.
  • When on antibiotics, take probiotics to help restore balance to the intestinal tract.

The city of Edge located in the Oban star-system.

Prologue:

"Subject 426-G, report to Sector 2 for immediate decontamination."

The air spoke to her, a harsh, tinny voice filling the tight chamber, a disembodied robotic drone that came from somewhere unseen, from the ceiling, the floor, the walls and corners, everywhere.

She looked up blankly, staring at a flickering red bulb hung limply from the roof on a single spindly strand of wire. She looked up through blurred, tired eyes, dazed and confused like a newborn baby, soulless eyes, the thoughts behind them empty, vacant. Red light lit the room, a dim throbbing pulse that stuck to the world, to anything it touched, like glue, coating everything with a thin film, a bloom of eye-straining scarlet, the warm afterglow of a fire, of smouldering embers and scorched rock. She sat slumped on the floor in a heap, barely clothed, barely conscious, steam rising rising from her body in twisting, wispy ribbons. Her skin was damp, coated with tiny bobbled droplets of viscous, transparent fluid that shone like a thousand tiny red stars under the dangling light's watchful gaze. The woman had been discarded, thrown away, yesterday's waste, dumped in a forgotten corner like an old rag-doll.

The voice rang from the air again, urgent and commanding, ordering her to do something. Just what, though, she wasn't sure; the words ? some far-flung corner of herself assured her that's what they were, though the definition and meaning escaped her ? flowed into her and sat heaped in her mind, a towering pile of jumbled meaning, building up and bloating her thoughts like so much undigested food, clogging her mind with a delirious headache. For a few minutes she had no idea where she was, who she was, when, how or why, or even any knowledge of these concepts. The world washed over her wasted body, smooth stone against a swelling ocean, her mind empty, a child's.

Something clunked deep inside the wall her body leaned against, cogs turning, steel rods slipping in and out of place. The metal slab slid back, then dropped out of sight, swallowed by a mouth in the floor, and very suddenly the room became much bigger. She felt tiny, alone, utterly confused, a thousand thoughts raced through her head, if only they would stop, if only she could understand them. A burst of brightness shone through from the new door, a shaft of bright white flooded the chamber, cleaning away that horrible, sickly red. The woman turned her head, tilting it back in search of this new wonder, and her body followed without thought. She fell back against the solid cold steel floor, knocking her head against the surface, her eyes tightening in pain. They opened slowly, catching a momentary glimpse of something, something familiar, not familiar, but that she knew.

It dawned on her then, her memories came flooding back, the walls of their cage washed away, the world crystallised in a single moment of clarity, and she knew everything she'd known before. She'd been Wiped, must have been, she knew now, though that simple fact had escaped her previous self. And now they were both going to pay for it. The voice called to her a third time, angry now, impatient, and before she could react, before she could move, her bare, naked shoulder was caught in an iron pincer, a solid metal claw-like vice. She was pulled, dragged back from the chamber, out across the numbing cold metal floor and into the light, a light that now faded, leaving everything in blackness. She was moved with inhuman force, the beck of an inhuman voice, a force she lay helpless against. The woman became very, very afraid.

She watched blankly as the light of her cell became smaller, drifting into the distance until it became a single pin-prick, then disappeared completely, giving way to a fog of complete dark. From the walls and corridors drifting invisibly past her there flitted clouds of whispers, abject whines, pitiless howls echoing from those unlucky enough to Clear early. She sailed past them in cold apathy, her skin raw and bloodied from its bare scraping across the varied metal surface, she gritted her teeth in pain without so much as a wince. Just anger, anger and self-pity. Programming kicked in at that moment, the sort of delay that had already caused her current situation, and a new wealth of knowledge flooded into her already saturated mind, knowledge she'd rather have done without. Protocol had been violated, and now... Well, now she was off to face her punishment. It was as simple as that.

An early Clearing was thought by many, though particularly newcomers, to be torture, something painful, undesirable, or just plain bad luck. You got to learn quickly that that small measure of pain and momentary terror was the best thing that could happen to you; the alternative, for most, was far worse, far more scarring. The woman stared down the long, endless hallway, a stretch of world drowned in pitch, and closed her eyes.

She wouldn't see light again for a month.

OOC: Roleplay Summary:
It's the 22nd century (the future, the far future, not today, not tomorrow, not next year, we're talking over a century from now. The Future), and you're a citizen of Edge, an inmate of one of the galaxy's largest, oldest and most ruthlessly violent prisons. Whether or not you're a new arrival of this particular hold, you've been a convict for a long, long time. Whatever your crimes, whatever your reasons for being here, all that matters is that you're a prisoner.

Forget your Human Rights, because you sure as hell don't have any here; the only thing that's going to ensure your survival is you, and you alone.

Edge was once a pristine new colony of Earth, a settlement at the furthest reaches of humanity's interstellar space-flight capability, but now? Now it's just a forgotten husk, relegated to housing the scum of every society rich enough to send their prisoners there. The old high-rise towers, immaculate sprawling coastal villas and megacities have long since crumbled into dust, rust and disrepair.

There is no culture, there is no economy, there is no government, there is no authority here except for what few automated systems Earth has left behind. There is nothing but what you can scrounge up from the wreckage. Some people have made a life here, in spite of their terrible crimes against humanity, setting up an existence that, at least superficially, resembles home, a home they knew once, but now lies in distant memory, a vague haze of images from a past they don't quite remember, or wished they never did.

Most of Edge is a crumbling wasteland, with civilisation just an echo, but there are places where order stands firm against the chaos and anarchy, a place far removed and protected from the onslaught of its inhabitants. This place is known as the Compound, and this, not the moon itself, not anything else, this is your world, where you eat, where you sleep, where you are punished. You don't so much as serve out your sentence; there is no chance of redemption, of freedom, of escape: you're here forever.

Welcome to Edge.

[ooc]Player Information:

The role of players in this role... play, is that of prisoners of this terraformed moon which, if it hasn't been mentioned enough already, is called Edge. While I might ideally like our players to be anything they want to be, there are a few practical constraints for this scenario, which I'll lay down below.

1: The Galaxy is devoid of known intelligent life-forms, our interstellar travel is barely even in its infancy, and if I see one more military/science-experiment character I will lose my sanity, therefore: You are, in 99.9% of cases and unless otherwise specifically requested, Human, in biological make-up if not temperament and mentality.

2: For rather insignificant reasons, inmates will all (that is, without exception) have either a) Been prisoners of Edge for a couple of years, or b) been in the prison system elsewhere for a couple of years. If a new arrival on Edge, you'll be the latter.

Since harsh worldwide reforms on Earth in the late 2000s, convicts are classified as sub-human, without any enforced rights or legal protection, no government mandated rehabilitation programmes, and no contact with the outside world. They're dumped on decrepit, washed-out shells of former settlements like Edge and left to rot. Crime rates on Earth are phenomenally low.

And...

3: Edge is a dangerous place. If you're not fully comfortable with, or prepared for, your character to experience pain and discomfort at any time and any level up to and including death, then this is probably not the best environment for that character. Or you.

_____________

Beyond that, there are one or two four terms you should become familiar with:

Programming: The artificial insertion of information into a person's memory, using a variety of processes with varying legality. Programming normally takes place after a Wipe, where the individual's memory and thought processes are more pliable, and is used most often on the prison population during CryoShip transit to a new facility, where instilled in their minds are the protocol, rules and regulations of the new holding area. Programming asserts itself during, or just after, Clearing, allowing a fresh inmate to adjust themselves quickly and efficiently to the practices of a given environment.

Wipe: An induced loss of mental information or knowledge. Through intense chemical and psychological means, areas of an individual's memory are blanked out, removed completely, or blocked from access. A Wipe is in most cases temporary, and often a necessary pre-requisite of Programming.

Clearing: The automatic process of recovering lost information, or the revealing of new information, in a person's mind, normally following a Wipe or Programming session. Clearing can take any amount of time and varies from person-to-person, but generally takes place within 24-hours of a Wipe. Normal Clearing encompasses a slow trickle of memory back into the conscious mind based on the body's current stimuli, and is reasonably harmless. Early Clearing on the other hand, where previous information and knowledge re-establishes itself in a person's consciousness all at once, is often immensely painful and can result in permanent mental damage.

RET: Relative Earth Time. Quite a lot of people, colonials, settlers and the like throughout the explored regions of space still count time using Earth's local 60/60/24/365 system, even on worlds whose orbit and rotation times and seasons are vastly different. Some people say it helps to ground them in unfamiliar or inhospitable environments, others say it's just lazy. It confuses everyone regardless, but works pretty well in space.
_____________

Finally we reach the arena of Character Creation. All I will ask from you is a Character Summary, meaning a short-ish block of text including the Name, Sex and Serial Number of your character, along with any other information you consider relevant such as a picture or the inclusion of a written description of their appearance. Serial Numbers consist of three numbers suffixed with a letter. My character is, as stated, 426-G, but I expect most of you to be late 'D's, 'E's and very early 'H's, or earlier on in the alphabet if you've been on Edge a particularly long time. Anything else you include is at your discretion, as is the length; I'll read it regardless.

I would like, for no discernible reason, balanced sexes in terms of characters, so take that into consideration when coming up with something. And we'll be starting at Compound, either as new arrivals or people already processed and held there, unless someone specifically requests they start out in the Zones and unregulated areas where all the shit goes down. Compound is more or less a run-down, town-sized prison with very high walls, maintained by automated systems and squads of robotic guards. Fun.
_____________

There's a fair bit of this universe I haven't ironed out, and some things may not be clear off the bat for people, so if you have any queries, however stupid you might think they are, just ask.

Alright then, let's rock.[/ooc]

OK, since you're determined to keep working on things with this guy...........................

I assume there's no way he can come? That's what I did on the first trip my hubby had to take.

My husband had to go away alone not long after D day #2, and what he did was write me one letter for each day he was going to be gone. Some were romantic, some were remembrances, whatever. He gave them to me and told me to open one each day and I did. Most helped, one triggered me though. But it was the thought that meant something - the fact he knew and wanted to help me feel better. He also had written me an 'apology letter' for me to keep with me and read whenever I needed to when I couldn't talk to him. So that helped.

He also emailed me his itinerary every day and texted me as much as he could whenever he could. We didn't have a long distance plan, but now we do, so if he was to go away now he would call to say good morning, call on his lunch, talk to me at night.

I won't lie, it was REALLY FREAKING HARD. But we got through it and it's only a memory now, and not a particularly bad one.

Here are the basic facts:
  • I am a WW who had an EA. It went on for about 6 months and ended 15 months ago.
  • My xOM was a colleague. He is no longer with the company. We are no longer in contact and he lives across the country.
  • I travel frequently between 2 ? 3 of our offices (none of which are near AP).
  • I share my travel itinerary with my husband, he is able to see my confirmation numbers, reservation numbers and hotel/car reservation information.
  • D-Day was 15 months ago when hubby found pictures texted between us that were stored on Sprint?s picture mail server (apparently pictures sent via text are auto uploaded). He confronted me and also the xOM.
  • He wanted me to stay and work things out.
  • We conceived a child during the working things out period.
  • He is disabled and unable to work so he is a stay at home dad. We did arrange for a sitter for ?sanity afternoons? as he needs.

We did a lot of rug sweeping after D-day to make things normal. For a period of time, everything seemed really great. Now that I?ve returned to work, he?s definitely anxious and really starting to freak out a bit. He has FINALLY agreed to marriage counseling which I?ve been asking him to do for years. Our first appointment is 10/31.

Here?s the question (sorry for all of that): I?m traveling this week for a few days for work (this isn?t optional, it?s what pays the bills in our household). He hasn?t said anything directly but I can tell this is really triggering him.

What can I do to help with this? I don?t want a big blow up or fight right before I leave and want to make things better for all of us.

First off, kudos to you for considering your H's feelings here.

If I were you, I would flirt with your H via text as much as possible while you are gone. Call him at night. Share with him what happened during the day, even boring stuff. Engage with him. Tell him you wish he was there with you.

I am going to give it every effort with MC/IC and see if we can revive this. I have been reading this site like a madwoman and really seeing quite a few places where we just let it all fall apart. I'm amazed we have feelings left for each other so it does give me a bit of hope (pun not intended).

I would LOVE it if he could come with us but with the little one and two dogs, that just won't work.

The idea of the letters is awesome. I really like that one. It reminds me of what I used to do when he was gone filming for a month or two at a time and I'd leave romantic cards in his suitcase in various clothing so he'd find them at different times.

I usually do call in the morning and evening so I'll ramp that up even more.

My H cheated on work conferences, and for me now, that is a no go area. I can't personally deal with the triggers and trauma and worry of 'he might be' because he's had too much to drink, and some other woman is giving him an inch.

My H seemed to forget he had a wife and family that he apparently loves and wants to remain with, because he drank too much and felt an urge he couldn't put aside. So, from this day forward he will have to spend more time travelling, and no time spending the night away from his home.

This will ultimately cause issues, with me and his job.....I do not doubt that. But he messed up and this is the consequence.

I don't envy your husband, he will be feeling terrible.

If I could give you some advice, don't drink! Text and phone him often as is possible. Be sure to phone last thing at night, no matter how late it gets and first thing in the morning. It might just take the edge of it for him, if you really have. O choice but to go, and he has no choice to go with you.

Yeah, we often have after hours events with alcohol. I try to include hubby as I can but that's gotten exponentially more complicated now with the baby.

It's noticeable to not drink so I enlist the help of the bartender to pour me a tonic (no booze) with lime in the SAME glass that they serve alcohol and just sip it along with everyone else. I learned this trick from a friend of mine who's going through the AA program.

I know we have lunch meetings schedule with the whole leadership team but I didn't see a dinner. I'll reach out to my boss and see - better to know ahead of time than spring something on hubby unexpected while I'm gone.

I actually had the exact opposite situation. I was at a work conference when I found out my wife was having an EA. So the next time I went out of town, it was ME who had the serious triggers. And most people I know behave themselves at out of town events. The cheaters are the exceptions.

I nearly had to stay at the exact same hotel, on the exact anniversary of DDay1. Got out of going to that conference again.

The biggest issue is simply the separation, whether work, vacation, or family obligation. There are going to be times when you can't be together, and surviving those days is paramount. Strategies for when you are separated need to be addressed and strategized ahead of time. Just ask your H what he needs. Express to him that you'll do whatever it takes, but that these trips are necessary for your job.

Iran and US can agree on one thing: There are no direct talks planned

Iran followed the United States on Sunday in denying that the two countries had scheduled direct bilateral negotiations on Iran's controversial nuclear program.

The New York Times, quoting unnamed US administration officials, had said on Saturday that secret exchanges between US and Iranian officials had yielded agreement "in principle" to hold one-on-one talks.

"We don't have any discussions or negotiations with America," Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi told a news conference. "The [nuclear] talks are ongoing with the P5+1 group of nations. Other than that, we have no discussions with the United States."

How much do you know about Iran? Take our quiz to find out.

The P5+1 group comprises the permanent members of the UN Security Council - the United States, Britain, China, France, and Russia - plus Germany.

The United States has been working with the P5+1 to pressure Iran on its nuclear program, but with few results. The United States and other Western powers allege that the program is aimed at developing nuclear weapons, but Tehran says it is purely peaceful.

WHITE HOUSE DENIES

The White House also denied the newspaper report, which came two days before President Barack Obama faces Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney in a televised foreign policy debate.

"It's not true that the United States and Iran have agreed to one-on-one talks or any meeting after the American elections," US National Security Council spokesman Tommy Vietor said in a statement.

"We continue to work with the P5+1 on a diplomatic solution and have said from the outset that we would be prepared to meet bilaterally."

Salehi said on Sunday it was planned that Iran would hold talks with the P5+1, "probably in late November," according to the Iranian Students' News Agency (ISNA).

P5+1: 'NO DATE'

But a spokesman for EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton, who is coordinating the efforts of the P5+1, said that "we hope that we will pick up discussions soon, but there is no date at the moment".

The P5+1 has held a series of inconclusive meetings with Iranian officials in the past year. While Western officials say there is still time to negotiate, they also have been ratcheting up sanctions, which are contributing to mounting economic problems in Iran.

The New York Times said Iran had insisted that its direct talks with Washington should not begin until after the US election on Nov. 6, which will determine whether Obama serves a second term or is succeeded by Romney.

DEBATE FODDER

The report looked likely to fan campaign debate over foreign policy, where Romney has been accusing Obama of being an ineffective leader who has left his country vulnerable.

He has also accused Obama of failing to give adequate support to Israel, which sees the prospect of a nuclear-armed Iran as a threat to its existence and has tried in vain to persuade Obama to spell out at what point the United States would use force to prevent Iran acquiring nuclear weapons.

Iran has repeatedly denied Israel's right to exist.

An Iranian Revolutionary Guard commander was quoted on Sunday as praising the launch of a drone into Israeli airspace by the Iranian-backed Lebanese militant group Hezbollah this month.

"This issue showed that the Zionists [Israelis] and Americans must know that no place is safe for them anymore," Mohsen Kazemini was quoted as saying by Fars.

Separately, the Guards' top commander, Mohammad Ali Jafari, said on Sunday he saw no chance of a military strike on Iran, ISNA reported.

Jafari's comments were in contrast to a statement last month in which he said he expected Israel eventually to go beyond threats and attack Iran.

Romney May Stop Hospital Visitation for Gay Couples ? Talk About ...

It?s known that Romney stands against rights for LGBT people. He signed the National Organization for Marriage pledge to stand against marriage equality, appoint Supreme Court Justices who would also stand against equal rights for gays and lesbians and fight to write discrimination against us into the US Constitution.

This, despite at one point saying he would be ?better than Ted? Kennedy on gay rights.

This week, Romney apparently believes that when my husband is in the hospital, I do not have the right to visit him and that it should be up to each state to decide whether or not I am the next of kin. He believes that a lesbian spouse like Janice Langbehn?visiting her dying wife in the hospital is a ?privilege? and not a right.

In an interview with Buzzfeed today, Romney ?adviser Bay Buchanan told Chris Geidner:

?Governor Romney also believes, consistent with the 10th Amendment, that it should be left to states to decide whether to grant same-sex couples certain benefits, such as hospital visitation rights and the ability to adopt children.?

In April of 2010, recognizing the extraordinary miscarriage of justice and horrifying stories of families being split apart while fathers, mothers, husbands and wives were barred from visiting one another in the hospital, Barack Obama signed an Executive Order stating that any hospital which receives government funding (including Medicare and Medicaid) shall recognize the relationships between gays and lesbians.

This was a simple move. There are truly very few Americans who believe any couple should be separated in their hours of need. But according to his advisers, Romney believes and will fight to make sure if (God forbid) I should need to visit my husband in the hospital, that my legal relationship is not recognized by hospital administration.

How cruel can a person be to leave a person potentially dying alone while their husband, wife, son or daughter sits in a sterile waiting room to hear their loved one has passed? And what kind of leader would support this kind of barbaric sentiment?

Please spread the word and understand why November 6th is such an important day. Please understand what is at risk for me, for you and for the people you love.

Help others by sharing their stories!

No. 5 Notre Dame beats BYU 17-14 behind Riddick

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) ? Theo Riddick is Notre Dame's smallest running back but Brigham Young learned he's got no shortage of power.

The 5-11, 200-pound Riddick ran for a career-high 143 yards against a Cougars defense that entered the game third in the nation against the rush. More importantly, Riddick sparked a ground game that ground out 270 yards, with his housemate, Cierre Wood, getting 114 yards and George Atkinson III scoring the go-ahead touchdown as the Irish rallied for a 17-14 win Saturday.

"As a team, this was special," Riddick said. "We showed that we can run the ball."

He got no argument from Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly.

Riddick "just ran really hard, north and south, physical," Kelly said. "That gives energy for everybody. The o-line sees a guy who's really pounding it in there. He got us that energy we needed."

Notre Dame (7-0), off to its best start in a decade, has a big game ahead against No. 10 Oklahoma next week, although it looked for a while the importance of that game was in jeopardy. The Cougars (4-4) fell to 0-3 on the road as they surrendered a season-high 270 yards rushing.

The Cougars drove to the Notre Dame 31 late, but Riley Nelson was sacked for a 9 yard loss. Moments earlier Cody Hoffman was wide open for what would have probably been a touchdown, but Nelson's pass wasn't close.

"We were one or two plays short from being able to come away with a victory," BYU coach Bronco Mendenhall said.

Riddick had runs of 55 and 27, the two longest rushes of his career. Neither was easy. On the 55-yard run from the 37-yard line, he ran into a pile at the line of scrimmage, put his hand down to keep his balance and then broke out of the pack before being caught by cornerback Jordan Johnson at the 8-yard line.

"Just run and run until you can't no more," Riddick said. "And I got a little gassed at the end."

The Irish then ran three straight running plays for a gain of one yard and had to settle for a 24-yard field goal by Kyle Brindza to cut BYU's lead to 14-10 late in the third quarter. On his 27-yard run late in the second quarter, Riddick broke two tackles and carried three BYU defenders for the final 10 yards to the BYU 14. But the drive stalled and Brindza missed a 28-yard field goal wide right.

Riddick said it was exciting to see the Irish backs come up so big.

"We have some talent back there, so why not give us the ball?" he said.

BYU linebacker Brandon Ogletree said the Cougars didn't tackle well enough.

"There were way too many times where we had a dude down in the backfield, in a hole, and we let him spring one for 12, 20, 40 yards, so that's not acceptable," he said.

After going 17 quarters without giving up an offensive touchdown, Notre Dame gave up two in a span of 2:18 as Nelson threw a 6-yard scoring pass to a wide-open Cody Hoffman in the end zone and a 2-yard pass to Kaneakua Friel after an interception by Kyle Van Noy.

That put BYU up 14-7 at halftime. Defensive end Kapron Lewis-Moore said the Irish didn't let the two touchdowns affect their play.

"You've got to move on to the next play and make the necessary adjustments, and I think that's what we did. We played the second half pretty clean," he said.

Backup quarterback Tommy Rees, starting in place of injured Everett Golson, completed 6 of 7 passes in the first quarter for 86 yards and a touchdown, throwing four of those to Tyler Eifert, including the TD. But Rees missed his next seven passes and the Irish attempted only three passes in the second half.

Rees' only completion after the break was a 31-yard pass to TJ Jones with a little more than a minute left in the third quarter. Riddick ran the ball up the middle for 19 yards to the BYU 5 to set up Atkinson's 2-yard TD run.

Kelly said he was concerned the Irish weren't more excited about the victory in the locker room afterward.

"I didn't sense a great feeling after winning a tough, tough football game. And that's a team that won 10 games last year," he said.

Kelly said the Irish came out on top with a good running game and a strong defensive effort, which he said has to be their formula for success. He said he knew BYU would be dangerous.

"That's a bracket buster team in basketball parlance, that's a darned good football team," he said. "Our kids hung in there and won the football game. So really pleased to be 7-0."
